Well, Revenge of the Sith is coming up in a few short weeks. I of course won't be seeing it until at least a week after it's release since I refuse to sit in a crowded theater for ANY movie. However, I am not above reading the associated books before their theatrical release. So I was in the city and picked up a copy of the book when I got to Embarcadero Center One 20 minutes before the start of my final meeting of the week. Got drunk Friday night with Vato - no real shock there - so I didn't manage to get very far, but the last 2/3 of the book kept me pretty well glued. It should be a very good movie, if Lucas doesn't fuck up the directing as much as the first two prequels. I swear, Episode IV is a testament to the great actors that were (ended up being) in that movie, because Lucas sucks ass behind the camera. -and no, I could give a shit less about Jar Jar, those movies sucked regardless of that character. BTW, much props to Liam, Ewan and Mr. Royalle wit cheese himself for doing their damndest to overcome, shall we say, mediocrity at best?

Got a small present from Paradise Poker yesterday too, they spiffed me $50 for a "tournament that was cancelled"??? In a million years I can never imagine putting $50 into an online tournament, $5(?) ya, but not $50. So I'm playing on their dime right now, although I don't really have any inclination of putting more coin into online poker. I'll just play on the change I have in them and save my real cash for the green baize. Why anyone would play online, other than to kill time between conference calls (my case), is beyond me. No limit is like russian roulette online, ya I said it! How can you "seriously" play a game where 90% of the strategy comes from human behavior that you can't observe online!?!?! Please, don't waste my time trying to argue that one, if you have to ask then you'll never know anyway. Oh, and make sure to tell all the "good" players in your monthly $20 buy-in home game I said hi, too. Ya, you know, the one where it takes 3 people to read a guy's hand once he's turned over because you aren't sure if it's a straight or a flush or a straight flush, let alone what beats what.

Sorry if I sound cynical, but I just get so damned tired of hearing about games where the combined poker IQ is less than 50. It's not like it's a difficult game to learn, but like I've said before, "you can't teach desire".

Off to write some code,
